Free OPD at Karkinos

IMPHAL, Apr 10 : A free OPD service has been opened at Karkinos from April 9 to 12 to mark the 31st birthday of Anant Ambani where a series of public welfare activities were organised in the State capital today with a focus on healthcare access, youth engagement, and community support.
Anant Ambani is the youngest son of billionaire mogul Mukesh Ambani.
According to a press release, a Mrityunjaya Puja was conducted at the Reliance-funded Karkinos Cancer Hospital in Imphal.
Patients and their families attended the prayer ceremony.
The hospital is also providing free OPD services from April 9 to 12 which would allow many people to access medical consultations at no cost.
Additionally, free Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) vaccinations were offered to eligible children at the hospital.
At the Eastern Sporting Union (ESU) Football Ground, Wangkhei, footballs were distributed to young players from the local communities.
Dr RK Nimai, retd IAS officer and a respected public figure, was present at the event and interacted with the players.
Senior officials from Karkinos Healthcare, including CEO Dr R Venkataramanan, its Imphal Hospital Director Dr Y Indibor Singh and Executive Director of Realm of Nature Based Actions (RNBA) Dimgong Rongmei were present in Imphal during the programmes.
Two larger initiatives are also under active consideration- a drive to vaccinate 10,000 girls against HPV and conservation of the Manipuri pony, an important cultural symbol of the State.
