Govt committed to ensuring justice: CM

IMPHAL, Apr 12: The State Government remains firmly committed to ensuring justice, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh has said assuring strict legal action against individuals found guilty in the April 7 Tronglaobi attack that killed two children.
He gave the assurance to members of Meira Paibi organisations who visited him at his official residence. The organisations submitted a memorandum to him.
In a post on Facebook, Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand said he held a meeting with representatives of Meira Paibi Lups of four Assembly Constituencies.
The CM said the Government has taken note of the issues raised in the memorandum.
"The Government has taken note of the issues raised with due seriousness. On the question of justice to the victims, it is reiterated that the law will take its own course based on the findings of the investigating agencies. Any individual found guilty of the alleged crime will be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law" said the CM in the post on Facebook.
"The State Government remains firmly committed to ensuring justice, upholding the rule of law, and maintaining peace and stability in Manipur," he added.
