IMPHAL, Apr 12: The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has vowed to carry on the protest movement together with the people until the Government takes up concrete actions regarding the Tronglaobi terror attack and the subsequent killing of three civilians in indiscriminate firing by CRPF.
A press release issued by the COCOMI said that the murder of two innocent children by Kuki narco- terrorists who fired a powerful rocket bomb at their house at Tronglaobi Awang Leikai when the children  were sleeping with their mother at around 1.20 am of April 7, 2026 is one of the most inhuman and gruesome crimes ever witnessed in human history.
Infuriated and anguished by the terror attack, a large number of civilians protested at a CRPF camp located nearby.
Instead of trying to understand the people’s sentiment and grief, the CRPF personnel opened fire indiscriminately killing three civilian protesters and injuring scores.
However, neither the Prime Minister nor Union Home Minister nor the President of India has issued a single statement so far regarding these brutal killings.
Their silence only makes it clear that they (Indian leaders) cannot see and treat the people of Manipur as fellow Indian citizens, the COCOMI said.
Meanwhile, a protest demonstration was staged at Thongkhong Luxmi Bazar today against the Tronglaobi terror attack under the aegis of COCOMI.
The protest was participated by a large number of womenfolk and members of COCOMI.
They used placards which read as, “We strongly condemn Tronglaobi terror attack”, “We condemn the murder of two innocent children”, “Let Manipur Police work freely”, “Abrogate SoO agreement with Kuki militants”, “Manipur Chief Minister must resign immediately”, “End the proxy war immediately” etc.
