IMPHAL, Apr 13 : The proscribed Socialist Revolu- tionary Party (SOREPA), Kangleipak has alleged that the foreign mercenaries/narco-terrorists who have been waging a war of aggression in Kangleipak (Manipur) since May 3, 2023 consolidated their position and built up their strength during the President’s Rule.
SOREPA has also condoled the two children killed in a bomb attack carried out by mercenaries/narco-terrorists at Tronglaobi Awang Leikai on April 7, 2026 as well as the three civilians who were killed in CRPF firing when they protested in front of their camp against the bomb attack.
The outfit has also expressed solidarity with the bereaved families.
A statement issued by the outfit’s Secretary, Publicity and Organization, MC Yai-phabi asserted that the recent killings testified that the aggression launched by foreign mercenaries of Indian armed forces on May 3, 2023 is still going on.
It is becoming clearer that the ongoing aggression is a proxy war waged at the behest of India with the objective of annihilating the Tangkhul, Kabui, Thadou, Meitei and other indigenous communities, the outfit said.
It said that waging a proxy war is a strategy of the Government of India’s efforts to suppress the liberation movement of Manipur/Kangleipak.
The Meiteis and other indigenous people bravely faced the proxy war launched since May 3, 2023. The Indian armed forces and their mercenary terrorists had a hard time fighting the indigenous people, it said.
It was for this reason that President’s Rule was imposed in the State. By imposing PR, the Government of India sent tens of thousands of troops and these troops started a widespread crackdown against village volunteers.
Many village volunteers were detained or arrested on the fabricated charges of being insurgents, SOREPA said.
The Government of India’s new strategy is first incapacitating the village volunteers through widespread persecution and then resuming the war of aggression, it alleged.
The new Government was reinstated only after the Indian armed forces consolidated their position and the foreign mercenary terrorists built up their strength, it said.
It further alleged that the Government of India’s objective is fragmenting  Kangleipak/Manipur by waging a proxy war together with their foreign mercenary narco-terrorists.
The outfit asserted that the only way to protect the indigenous people is driving out the Indian armed forces and their mercenary terrorists from the soil of Kangleipak/Manipur.
As such, it is imperative for all the indigenous people to join hands and fight collectively, it added.
