3rd Mema Memorial Veteran T-20 Cricket BSC-A, YPHU-W open league campaign on winning notes

IMPHAL, Apr 1 : BSC-A, Brahmapur Laljilakpa Leikai and YPHU-W, Lalambung registered opening game victories  in the 3rd Khomdram (O) Hijam Mema Devi Memorial T20- Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament 2026 at Langthabal Public Ground.
In the Group C match staged this morning, BSC-A chased down a target of 126 runs set by KCC, Kongba with 2 wickets and 2 balls to spare.
Robertson fired a 58-ball 62 while Mahesh added 31 off 26 balls to help KCC post 125 for all wickets down in 19.3 overs but their efforts went abegging as Robinson quickfired 50 off 31 and Tarun scored a brisk 48 off 37 balls to set up the BSC-A victory.
Earlier in the first innings, Rakesh (4/25) and Rohindro (4/25) shone with the ball for BSC sharing 8 wickets while Tarun (1/23) and Nishikanta (1/9) claimed a wicket apiece.
In reply, Tarun and Robinson forged a remarkable first wicket partnership of 95 runs off 56 balls to give BSC-A a promising start. Their departures marked the turning point as wickets kept tumbling with Devkanta leading the KCC bowling attack. Little contributions from the outgoing batters were however more than enough to seal the victory for BSC-A.
Devkanta returned with the best figures of 4/9 for KCC.
Rakesh of BSC-A, who picked four wickets and scored an unbeaten 3 off 3 balls to seal the win, was adjudged man of the match.
Later in a Group D match, YPHU-W restricted LCC, Lamsang to 127/7 and cruised to the winning 131/5 within 17.5 overs.
Dutta 39 off 52 balls and Jama 25 off 34 (retired out) led the scoring for LCC today in the first innings that saw Dularva (2/24) and Dhurba (2/16) claiming two wickets for YPHU-W.
In reply, Jinendra 32 off 31 balls and Heromen 21 off 23 balls gave YPHU-W early stability before Maison 14 not out off 9 balls and Josan 12 not out finished off the chase in 17.5 overs.
For LCC, Rajmani (2/15), Romendro (1/28) and Michael (1/16) were among the wickets.
Durlava who picked two wickets and contributed 13 runs in the chase, was named man of the match.
