SC dismisses

IMPHAL, Apr 1: A 3-Judge bench of the Supreme Court led by Chief Justice Surya Kant has dismissed a writ petition filed by ex-MLA Okram Henry against Wangkhei MLA Thangjam Arunkumar today.
The writ petition was filed by Okram Henry praying for a direction from the top Court to the High Court of Manipur to take up an election petition pending before it for disposal.
The petition sought the SC to direct the HC to dispose of the case within a fixed period by setting up a dedicated bench to hear the matter expeditiously on a day by day basis.
The Supreme Court, after hearing the submissions, dismissed the writ petition.
