IMPHAL, Apr 1: In connection with the inclusion of one "Alex Aimol" in a document recently circulated under the banner of the United Kuki Council (UKC), the Aimol Students' Union, Manipur (ASUM) has clarified that no individual by the said name exists within the Aimol community.
According to a statement issued by ASUM, the oath taking and installation ceremony document of the UKC issued yesterday lists one "Alex Aimol" along with his associated profile and designation within the Council.
ASUM has urged all concerned to correct the misrepresentation immediately and to ensure that such inaccuracies are not repeated.
Issuing the clarification on behalf of the Aimol community, ASUM termed the reference as "false, misleading and appears to be a deliberate act of misrepresentation."
"The Aimol community further states that it has no formal association, affiliation, or representative linkage with the United Kuki Council or any Kuki organisation. Any attempt to suggest or project otherwise is entirely inaccurate and unacceptable", it declared.
If the UKC claims "Alex Aimol" to be a genuine individual, ASUM called upon the Council to provide verifiable details, including "full identity, profile, designation, and the village to which he belongs."
ASUM has issued a firm warning stating that continued misuse of the Aimol name and cautioned that creation or circulation of fabricated profiles or designations, will not be tolerated and may invite appropriate action in accordance with established legal and customary provisions.
It has advised all parties concerned to refrain from misrepresenting or attempting to involve the Aimol community, in matters where there has been no consent, consultation, or legitimate connection.
