Man allegedly kills self

IMPHAL, Apr 2: A 55-year-old man allegedly committed suicide by shooting with his own licensed gun in his bedroom at around 9.40 last night at Nagamapal Kangjabi Leirak, Friends’ Colony, Imphal West under Imphal police station.
At around 9.40 pm on Wednesday, a daughter of the man suddenly shouted from her room, calling for help in a very distressed manner and upon hearing her cries, other family members rushed into the room, sources said.
Upon reaching the room, the family members were shocked to find Khaidem Giridhari (55) s/o (L) Nodiachand lying inside the room in a pool of blood with bullet injury mark on his head.
Soon after, Imphal police station was informed about the incident.
Upon reaching the spot and on further enquiry, it was found that Khaidem Giridhari shot himself with his own licensed gun, said the sources.
Imphal Police have registered a UD case in connection with the incident and deposited the dead body at RIMS morgue for post mortem.
The post mortem of the dead body was conducted today afternoon at RIMS morgue in presence of an Executive Magistrate with full video coverage.
Later the dead body was handed over to the family members, said the sources.
