Back from Delhi, Khemchand calls on Governor at Lok Bhavan CM to visit Jiri, studies security on NHs

IMPHAL, April 2 : Chief Minister Y Khemchand is scheduled to visit Jiribam on April 4, where he will attend a joint community meeting at New Alipur Naga Village in the district. This will be the second visit of the Chief Minister to Jiribam, the first one having come on February 11, during which he met members of the Hmar community.
This visit follows his recent meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on April 1.
The Chief Minister returned to Imphal around 1 pm today.
Shortly after his arrival, Khemchand went to Lok Bhavan for a meeting with Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla.
The meeting lasted approximately 10 minutes.
While the details of the discussion remain unclear, a well-placed source stated that the Chief Minister may have briefed the Governor about his meeting with Amit Shah, which reportedly focused on the law and order situation in the State.
The Chief Minister also chaired a high-level review meeting with senior officials at the Secretariat today to assess and strengthen measures for ensuring safety and security along the National Highways.
Khemchand, in a social media post, stated that the  protection of life and the facilitation of safe, uninterrupted movement of people and goods remain "our highest priority."
He said that clear directives have been issued to firmly address and contain all disruptive and 'recalcitrant' elements, ensuring secure corridors and smooth transit across the State.
"We remain resolute in our commitment to uphold peace, stability, and public confidence through decisive and coordinated action," he said.
Meanwhile, according to the itinerary released by the Chief Minister's Secretary, Khemchand will reach in Jiribam around 12.55 pm on April 4.
During his visit, he will make brief stops at Leingangpokpi Police Outpost, Jiribam District Hospital and Lamlenkhul.
Khemchand will be accompanied by Thanga AC MLA T Robindro, Mayang Imphal AC MLA K Robindro, Keirao AC MLA L Rameshwor Meetei, Konthoujam AC MLA Dr S Ranjan, Sekmai AC MLA H Dingo, Kumbi AC MLA S Premchandra, Wangjing Tentha AC MLA Paonam Brojen, Jiribam AC MLA Ashab Uddin, and BJP Manipur president A Sarda Devi.
On the same day (April 4), at around 3.20 pm, the Chief Minister will attend a joint community meeting in Jiribam district at New Alipur Naga Village.
The following day, April 5, Khemchand will lay the foundation stone for the Inter-State Truck Terminus (ISTT) and other projects at Chandrapur, Jiribam.
Additionally, he is scheduled to attend campaign meetings for the BJP in Silchar and Hailakandi in Assam on April 5.
The Chief Minister is expected to return to Imphal from Jiribam on April 6.
During the meeting with the Union Home Minister at Delhi on April 1, Amit Shah had reviewed the prevailing security scenario in Manipur and had directed the Chief Minister to expedite the peace process and facilitate inter-community harmony.
The Union Home Minister had also agreed in principle to set up a new IRB Mahila unit and had asked the Chief Minister to  submit a formal proposal.
