AMMPACO to campaign

IMPHAL, Apr 3 : The All Manipur Meitei Pangal Clubs' Organisation is set to launch a one-month “Recalling Our Identity” campaign from April 15 with an aim to preserve the unique identity and culture of the Meitei Pangal community across Manipur.
Making the announcement at AMMPACO office located at New Checkon today, AMMPACO president Meraimayum Salamat Ali said the opening ceremony of the campaign will be held at Kwakta Village on April 15.
The campaign seeks to safeguard and preserve the cultural heritage, identity and traditions of Meitei Pangal forefathers as lifestyle influences from other countries are beginning to replace the unique Meitei Pangal way of life, he said.
A major program has also been lined up for April 30 at Lilong after multiple outreach visits to different villages.
The campaign will conclude on May 14.
AMMPACO has appealed to every member of the Meitei Pangal community residing in different corners of the State to actively participate in the campaign and contribute to safeguarding community identity.
