10th MNCA Elite Trophy PTRC thrash REYS for third title on the trot

IMPHAL, Apr 5 : Defending champions PTRC, Patsoi Part IV secured their third successive title in the 10th MNCA W Prahlada and W Ramananda Elite Trophy 2025-26 as they defeated REYS, Khwai Nagamapal Lamabam Leikai by 6 wickets today at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
PTRC chose wisely to field first after winning the toss and bundled out REYS for 107 runs in 33.3 overs before cruising to the winning 113/4 in 26.1 overs.
Khundrakpam Punshiba Mangang shone with the ball for PTRC as he returned with a haul of four wickets (4/12) in his spell of 4.3 overs to dismiss REYS for 107 runs.
Chingakham Bidash (2/7 in 4 overs), Tamarland Pheiroijam (2/15) and Pheiroijam Jotin (2/22) also picked two wickets apiece to leave REYS line up in tatters.
Md Shamir Khan 28 off 59 balls and Kiran Laishram 24 off 37 balls emerged the leading scorers for REYS today.
In reply, Khangembam Santosh gave early stability by helping PTRC raise 78 runs along with three batters including Salam Richie 15 and Andy Mandingbam 13 before he was bowled out for 36 runs by Ringku Kangujam for the fourth wicket.
Jotin (25 off 13 balls; 1 four and 2 sixes) and Rajkumar Rex (12 off 13 balls; 1 six) then forged an unbeaten partnership of 35 runs to seal the victory.
Jotin finished off the chase with a brilliant six off the bowling of KKV Mustaque in the opening delivery of the 27th over.
For REYS, Kiran Laishram finished with 2/12 in 8 overs as Sohail Akram  (1/16) too found his name among the wicket takers.
Winners PTRC were feted with a cash prize of Rs 2,20,000 and a trophy while REYS settled for a cash prize of Rs 1,70,000 and a trophy.
Jotin Pheiroijam who shone throughout the tournament to amass 523 runs and 24 wickets in 13 innings was also feted with both the highest run scorer (Rs 10,000 cash prize + Trophy) and the man of the series (Rs 15,000 cash prize + Trophy) trophies as compatriot RK Rex claimed the highest wicket taker trophy and a cash prize of Rs 10,000 as he collected 32 scalps in as many as 13 innings.
Khundrakpam Punshiba was, meanwhile, adjudged player of the final match trophy and a cash prize of Rs 5,000 for his match defining bowling performance.
Other individual prize winners include best fielder- Naesh Hussain of RCA (13 dismissal) and best wicketkeeper- Nawaz of CHAMP (3 stumpings and 9 catches).
