EMFC enter 24th Challenge Cup final

IMPHAL, Apr 5 : EMFC, Lamlai fought their way to the final of the 24th Challenge Cup Veteran Football Tournament with a hard fought 2-1 win over AFFC, Imphal at natural turf of SAI-NERC, Takyel.
With the final berth in sight, the two sides started cautiously and entered the break goalless.
W Premjit however broke the deadlock in the 44th minute to put EMFC ahead only to be equalized by H Noren of AFFC in the 57th minute.
The game looked to settle in a 1-1 draw but Kh Suresh scored the winner for EMFC one minute into the stoppage time (60+1’) to send AFFC packing.
Keishamthong FC will play Thangmeiband FC in the next semi-final match tomorrow at the same venue from 2.45 pm.
