KCC, REYS win in Mema Memorial Veteran T20 Cricket Tournament

IMPHAL, Apr 5 : KCC, Kongba and REYS, Nagamapal emerged victorious in today’s matches of the ongoing 3rd Khomdram (O) Hijam Mema Memorial T20 Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament.
In a Group C match, KCC registered their first win by handing SHADOW, Thangmeiband a crushing 95-run defeat.
Kiran scored an unbeaten 101 off 67 balls with Lamnganba assisting with an unbeaten 51 off 28 balls to help KCC raise a daunting total of 206 for 2 wickets after the won and elected to bat first.
Deban (3/17) and Bonny (2/17) then led in restricting SHADOW to 111/9 in reply to seal the huge win. Boby 34 off 32 and Solomon 18 off 20 were the leading run getters for SHADOW in this innings.
Bonny had also scored 35 runs off 26 balls earlier in the first innings that saw Bobi (1/35) and Kapil (1/48) claiming a wicket apiece for SHADOW.
Kiran who shone with a century was named man of the match.
Later in the day, REYS sealed their second Group A victory by defeating YCC, Yaiskul by 9 wickets via DLS method as rain interrupted the second innings.
YCC opted to bat first but could post only 127 runs for 7 wickets despite leading knocks from Sanjit Laishram 47 and Everest 30 as REYS bowling unit produced a frugal performance. REYS were 44/1 in 6 overs when rain stopped the match and REYS were declared winners  via DLS method.
