IMPHAL, Apr 5 : Meira FCC, Wangjing emerged the Group B winners in the 3rd Division Football League 2025-26 being organised by DFA Thoubal as they beat Pandam FC, Charangpat in a 7-goal thriller for the fourth straight win.
Coming off from a 4-1 win over UCFA, Laiphrakpam, Meira FCC conceded a goal early in the 6th minute as Alex found the target for Pandam FC.
They however fought back valiantly and drew level in the 12th minute through Sh Meiraba before S Johnson overturned the lead in the 16th minute and L Abinash further stretched the lead to 3-1 after 25 minutes.
Yoyo reduced gap to 2-3 for Pandam FC in the 32nd minute but L Devaraj found the decisive goal for Meira FCC in the 50th minute to give a 2-goal cushion.
Competition scored another goal for Pandam FC in the 51st minute but they failed to add to their tally as Meira FCC defence stood firm to thwart any alterations in the scoreline and seal the victory.
Despite the result, Pandam FC finished second in the group table with 7 points from 2 wins and a draw.
Earlier in the day, FPMC, Khongjom romped to a 5-0 win over Samaram FC to make a third place finish in the Group B table. Sachin opened the scoring floodgate for FPMC in the 17th minute before Avinash (18’), Sanahal (25’), Sh Bikodor (43’) and Th Achouba (49’) took their turns to set up the comfortable 5-0 win.
