24th Challenge Cup Umakanta, Sanjitkumar propel Keishamthong FC into final

IMPHAL, Apr 6 : W Umakanta scored a treble and M Sanjitkumar scored a brace to guide Keishamthong FC 6-0 past Thangmeiband FC in the second semi-final match of the 24th Challenge Cup Veteran Football Tournament 2026 at natural turf, SAI-NERC Takyel this afternoon.
Keishamthong FC found it hard to crack the Thangmeiband defence earlier until M Sanjitkumar opened the scoring in the 28th minute to break the deadlock and doubled the advantage within 2 minutes.
W Umakanta then joined the scoring spree by netting Keishamthong FC’s third goal in the 39th minute before adding another the very next minute to make it 4-0.
S Shanta further extended the lead to 5-0 by scoring one goal in the 42nd minute before Umakanta rounded off the scoring in the 48th minute. With the victory, Keishamthong FC set up the final date with EMFC, Lamlai on April 10.
AFFC, Imphal will play Thangmeiband FC in the third place match on April 8 from 2.45 pm.
