IMPHAL, Apr 6: Highlighting advertisements published recently for appointment to various Government posts on contractual basis, the JAC of AMTUC and AMGEO has appealed to Chief Minister Y Khemchand to fill up all the sanctioned posts of various departments through the Manipur State Staff Selection Commission so as to avoid appointment on contractual basis.
According to a representation submitted by the JAC to the Chief Minister, there are around 48,000 vacant posts under different departments of the State Government.
These vacant posts are sanctioned posts and should be filled up on regular basis, it said.
However, the recent advertisement issued by different departments including the Department of Art and Culture, Land Resource Department, Social Welfare Department, Excise Department and Education(S) Department are for appointment on contractual basis, it pointed out. Through the same representation, the JAC also sought a meeting with the Chief Minister.
