I-League 3 Playoff KLASA beat Chhaygaon FC 3-1, FC Raengdai held to 1-1 draw

IMPHAL, May 18 : Keinou Library & Sports Association (KLASA), Keinou registered a 3-1 win over Chhaygaon FC as FC Raengdai were held to a 1-1 draw by Sunrise Club Orissa and Tiddim Road Athletic Union (TRAU) fell 0-1 to Baghpat FC in today’s playoff matches of the I-League 3 at SAI Stadium and Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.
In the morning fixture staged at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium, Sharangthem Rajdan scored a brace to earn KLASA a 3-1 win over the Assam team.
Rajdan opened the scoring in the 39th minute before completing his brace in the 42nd minute to give KLASA a 2-0 first-half lead.
Midul Doley pulled back a goal for Chhaygaon FC in the 83rd minute, but Ngariyanbam Jenish Singh scored one minute into stoppage time to restore KLASA’s two-goal advantage and seal the 3-1 victory.
It was the first win for KLASA in two matches, having played out a goalless draw with Baghpat FC in the previous match.
In the afternoon fixture at the same venue, FC Raengdai—who beat Chhaygaon FC 4-2 in their playoff opener—took an early lead through Shoraisham Sagar in the fifth minute.
However, Faslurahman Methukayil equalised for Sunrise Club Odisha in the 21st minute.
Both sides searched for a winner in the remainder of the game but to no avail, eventually sharing a point apiece.
Elsewhere at SAI Stadium, TRAU who played out a 0-0 draw with Sunrise Club Orissa, suffered a narrow 0-1 loss to the visiting Baghpat FC. The lone goal that settled the game was scored by Oinam Malemnganba Meitei in the 70th minute.
