Analysis of recent events : The ‘unknown hand’

Sir,
There is a disturbing and repetitive pattern emerging from recent events in the State. Whenever a semblance of peace begins to return, a coordinated "Unknown Hand" strikes with precision and strategic planning to destabilize our society.
Timeline of Key Incidents
• April 7: A rocket attack targeted a sleeping Meitei family, resulting in the tragic deaths of two innocent children and injuring their mother.
• April 18: As public anger began to subside, two Tangkhul Naga individuals—including a retired soldier—were killed in an ambush while travelling to Ukhrul.
• May 13: Three Thadou Church leaders were killed in an ambush in Kangpokpi district while returning from Churachandpur (CCpur).
Current Situation and Concerns
• Lack of Accountability : To date, no group or individual has claimed responsi- bility for these three attacks, and no arrests have been made.
• Inter-Community Conflict : This "Unknown Hand" appears to be successfully inciting conflict among the three major communities in the State, leading them to accuse one another of these heinous crimes.
• A Call for Leadership: Rather than confronting each other, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) and community leaders must prioritize identifying this hidden instigator.
Failure to uncover the truth behind these provocations will ensure that innocent people, particularly women and children, continue to suffer—a cycle that must be broken before it is TOO LATE.
Yours faithfully,
Yenkokpam Somorjit
