NCC Ekta Cup for U17 Boys begins

IMPHAL, May 22 : Hosts NCC Imphal Group and Real Football Academy (RFA), Top Siphai emerged victorious as the NCC Ekta Cup for U-17 Boys kicked off today at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.
The opening match (Group B) of the 12-team tournament organised under the auspices of the All Manipur Football Association saw A Krish (46’) and W Mukaram (88’) net a goal apiece to earn NCC Imphal Group, DMU Campus a 2-0 win over Pandam Football Foundation.
In the second match (Group A), Sagolband United Football Academy (SUFA) played out a 2-2 draw with Kontha Ahallup Football Academy (KAFA).
Jonathan (43’) and Bicky (54’) were on the target for SUFA in the draw as M Prem (36’) and Th Jenson (65’) scored for KAFA.
In the Group C opener staged later in the day, RFA rode on goals from H Pravakar (1’) and Md Sajad (59’) to beat MUFA 2-0.
