IMPHAL, May 22 : PTRC, Patsoi; SHADOW, Thangmeiband and KSDO, Kyamgei are into the semi-finals of the 5th MNCA Boys U14 One Day Trophy as the AKSDO vs RCA quarter-final clash was abandoned.
At Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College ground, KSDO overwhelmed YAL, Thoubal Leishangthem by 119 runs to book their semi-final ticket.
Electing to bat first, KSDO raised a modest total of 163 runs for 7 wickets in the allotted 30 overs and bundled out YAL for 44 runs within 16.2 overs courtesy of Khutheibam Abu Sufiyan’s prolific bowling performance.
Sangomsumpham Arish 48 off 64 balls, Khutheibam Abu Sufiyan 27 off 37 balls and Mujamin 20 off 22 balls led the KSDO scoring today before Abu Sufiyan (5/4 in 4.2 overs) and Mohammed Gunbas (2/17 in 5 overs) led the demolition work of YAL batting line up in the second innings.
Alvas Makakmayum of YAL claimed 2 wickets (2/33) while five others picked a wicket apiece in the first innings before Gokul Thokchom 13 emerged the highest and only double digit run getter in the chase.
Abu Sufiyan was adjudged player of the match.
In another quarter-final clash staged at Khudeiband Lampak, PTRC notched up a 184-run victory over TCMDC, Thongju Pechu Lampak riding on Priyojit Thongam and Ghoutam Chingangbam.
Asked to bat first, PTRC raised a commanding total of 225/8 thanks to a big century knock from Priyojit Thongam (95-ball 157; 30 fours and 1 six) and 35 extras before Ghoutam Chingangbam (5/5 in 5.3 overs) and Thokchom Yaiphaba (3/19 in 5 overs) set up TCMDC collapse at 41 within 12.3 overs.
Elsewhere at Lairenjam Public Ground, SHADOW got the better of AMCA by 20 runs via DLS method in a rain hit quarterfinal match.
SHADOW opted to field first and bundled out AMCA for 137 runs in 28.2 overs riding on Venson Yumnam (3/26), Sagatpam Telheiba (2/18), Khundrakpam Hemraj (2/29) and Sukhadev Yumnam (2/11) before rain interrupted the chase at 68/2 in 14 overs.
The target was revised at 49 in 14 overs via DLS method and SHADOW were eventually declared winners by 20 runs.
