Later in the day, United Youth Thamnapokpi (UYT) and Social Welfare Club (SWC) opened the Group F league campaign with a 2-2 draw.
SWC found the lead early in the 10th minute through Md Samir but things came on level terms with his teammate Wahengbam Sanatomba conceding an own goal in the 33rd minute.
SWC, however, reestablished their lead with Samir scoring again in the 39th minute.
After trailing 1-2 in the first half, UYC entered the field with a renewed purpose and restored the parity in the 62nd minute courtesy of a strike from Amujao.
