Two found dead

IMPHAL, May 23: In two separate cases, two persons were found dead at two different locations this morning.
In the first case, a woman pregnant for three months was found dead in a pond near her residence at Yurembam Awang Leikai, Imphal West under Patsoi police station.
It was suspected that the woman drowned in the pond.
The deceased has been identified as Haobijam (ningol) Sapam (ongbi) Deepa (29) w/o Bishonath of Yurembam Awang Leikai. After an inquest of the body and its surrounding area by a team of State forensic experts, a police team picked up the dead body and deposited it at RIMS mortuary.
Even though a post mortem was conducted this afternoon, the body was not claimed till the time of filing this report.
Meanwhile, a UD case has been registered at Patsoi police station. In another case, an unknown man was found dead downstream of Khoupum Dam, Noney district under Noney police station. Some passers-by came across the dead body floating in the river this morning and they informed the police.
The dead body was later picked up from the river while a case was registered at Noney police station.
