IRB men cross into Myanmar, handed over

UKHRUL, May 23: Two IRB personnel who crossed the international border into Myanmar were detained by Myanmarese villagers before they were released and handed over to Assam Rifles.
According to sources, two IRB personnel stationed in Ramphoi village of Kamjong district were found missing at 10 am today.
The missing IRB personnel were identified as Thotreimung and Pasel Anal. Some local villagers said that the two security personnel crossed the border and were loitering when Myanmarese villagers apprehended them.
They were detained for a few hours for interrogation.
After verifying their details and confirming that they were IRB men posted at Sangalok, Thotreimung and Pasel Anal were safely released and handed over to the Assam Rifles stationed at Phaikok village.
Notably, Phaikok village is located along the international border pillar (BP) 102, very close to the Myanmar village of Onsia.
Later a team of district police led by Rocky, Superintendent of Police ( SP) Kamjong rushed to the area and troops of 11 Assam Rifles handed over the two IRB men today to the police officers at around 7 pm.
