IMPHAL, May 24: An 18-year-old girl was killed while two others sustained injuries in a road accident that took place on Lemba Khul inter-village road, near Pinewood Garden, Imphal East under Andro police station at around 3.30 pm today.
The deceased victim has been identified as Sonika Khundrakpam (18) d/o Tiken of Khangabok Maisnam Leikai. The injured victims have been identified as Ningthoujam Alka alias Thoibi (18) d/o Bheigya of Khangabok Cherapur Leikai and Laishram Thoibi of Khangabok.
The three of them were riding a moped when they lost control and met with an accident near Pinewood Garden. Even as all three of them were evacuated soon after the accident and taken to Thoubal district hospital, Sonika Khundrakpam was declared dead.
Ningthoujam Alka and Laishram Thoibi have been referred to JNIMS for further treatment.
