NCC Ekta Cup for U-17 Boys KIYC, NCC and RFA emerge as table toppers

IMPHAL, May 25 : Hosts NCC, Imphal Group;Real Football Academy (RFA), Top Siphai and KIYC, Kshetrigao emerged as the Group B, C and D winners of the NCC Ekta Cup for U-17 Boys to join Group A winners Sagolband United Football Academy in the semis.
In the final Group D match of the tournament staged this morning at Artificial Turf Ground, KIYC ran riot to outclass East Kangleipak Football Academy (EKFA) to complete the league stage sweep today.
Fresh from a commanding 7-1 demolition of Golden Football Academy, KIYC kept their foot on the pedal. A brace from W Sheikh Irshad (25’, 79’) and individual strikes from S Danish (8’), H Rahis (27’), Md Soyal (36’), and a 65th-minute penalty from Aship Ali powered KIYC to a comprehensive 6-0 rout of EKFA.
In the second and final Group B match staged later, NCC, who beat Pandam Football Academy 2-0 in their first match, extended their winning run to crush KFA 4-0 courtesy of goals coming from K Soyet (27’), Md Wajit (33’), A Krish (45+1’) and N Taison (74’).
Meanwhile in the third match of the day and final Group C match, RFA completed their league stage sweep by defeating NEROCA FC by a slender 1-0 margin. The lone goal that settled the issue was scored by Ph Mangal in the 89th minute.
With the completion of the league round, Group A winners Sagolband United FA will play Group B winners NCC in the first semi-final match tomorrow afternoon from 1 pm before Group C winners RFA play Group D winners KIYC in the other semi-final match from 3 pm.
The final match is slated for May 29.
