MPA, KCC and KSDO victorious in 4th MNCA Men’s U19 One Day Trophy

IMPHAL, May 25 : MPA, Thounaojam; KCC, Kongba and KSDO, Kyamgei emerged victorious in today’s matches of the 4th MNCA Men’s U19 One Day Trophy 2025-26.
At Model Hr Sec and Oriental College Ground, MPA hammered CCK, Khongman by 158 runs to open their Group A campaign on a brilliant note.
MPA won the toss and opted to bat first. They raised a competitive total of 187 runs for 7 wickets in the allotted 25 overs and bundled out CCK for a meagre total of 29 runs within 10.4 overs.
MPA did not have the best of the start and slumped to 29/5 in 7.1 overs before Soram Naoboy, who came in at number 5, rescued the team from the precarious situation. He shone with the bat for MPA adding an unbeaten 81 off 66 balls studded with 5 fours and 3 sixes.
He stitched 57 runs with Rojit Thoudam (16 off 23 balls) for the 6th wicket before forging 89 runs for the 7th wicket with Elangbam Rohit (43 off 28 balls; 5 fours and 1 six) to steer MPA to 187/7 in 25 overs.
Thokchom Dinesh (4/23) was the pick of the CCK bowlers as Ksh Bikramjit picked two wickets (2/20).
In reply, CCK batting department faltered badly and were dismissed for 29 runs in just 10.4 overs as Th Dinesh (11 off 16 balls) emerged as the only double digit run getter.
Five CCK batters also departed on ducks as Chongtham Sitaranjan (3/8 in 3 overs), Ch Muhinikanta (2/3 in 2 overs) and Chingtham Albish (2/0 in 0.4 overs) led the impressive MPA bowling attack.
Soram Naoboy was adjudged player of the match for his match winning batting display.
Elsewhere at Khangabok Cherapur Public Ground, KCC overwhelmed SSC, Porompat by 184 runs via VJD method in a rain hit match for their first Group E win.
Opting to bat first, KCC raised a mammoth total of 340 runs for 9 wickets in 34 overs thanks to Lucky Elangbam’s 118 quickfire off 58 balls (16 fours and 6 sixes) and Sanayai Ningthoujam’s 38-ball 61 (4 fours and 4 sixes) before rain halted the SSC chase at 78/6 (after 22 overs).
The target was revised at 263 in 22 overs via VJD method and KCC emerged as winners by 184 runs.
Md Anas (4/45), Amir Raj (2/74) and Altamas (2/48) were among the wickets for SSC in the first innings while Md Anas was unbeaten on 20 off 35 balls in reply.
Sanayai Ningthoujam (3/12) and Thoungamba (2/19) were the leading KCC bowlers in the second innings.
Sanayai, who produced an allround show, was declared player of the match.
The Group B match between CRAU, Khamnam Bazar and FORCE, Kshetrigao was abandoned due to rain at Khudeiband Lampak.
Elsewhere at Moijing Public Ground, KSDO beat THAU, Thangmeiband by 37 runs in a Group C encounter.
KSDO opted to bat first and raised 165/10 in 29.4 overs before bowling out THAU for 128 runs in 26 overs.
