5th MNCA Boys U14 One Day Trophy 2025-26 RCA crush AKSDO by 137 runs, set up semi-final date with SHADOW

IMPHAL, May 25 : RCA, Lilong saw off AKSDO, Khangabok by 137 runs in a one-sided quarterfinal match of the 5th MNCA Boys U14 One Day Trophy 2025-26 today at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium to set up a semi-final date with SHADOW, Thangmeiband.
Put in to bat first, RCA erected a competitive total of 172/5 in the allotted 20 overs courtesy of sensible knocks from Afiq Hussain and Heibokmayum Albaz Hussain, and bundled out AKSDO for 35 runs in 19.4 overs thanks to a concerted bowling effort.
RCA had a positive start to their innings, with Afiq Hussain and Syed Sami Ul (28 off 32 balls; 3 fours) adding 60 runs for the first wicket in 58 deliveries.
RCA slipped to 83/3 in 12.4 overs as Afiq Hussain saw two incoming batters departing cheaply, before Heibokmayum Albaz Hussain came in and provided stability to the innings. The duo took on the AKSDO bowlers with ease and blasted 61 runs off 33 balls together until Afiq holed out to Shailesh off the bowling of Khundrakpam Lamnganba on the final delivery of the 18th over. Afiq made a crucial 57 off 52 balls, decorated with 6 fours and 1 six.
Heibokmayum Albaz then anchored the back end with an unbeaten 47 off 25 balls, laden with 5 fours and 2 sixes, taking RCA to 172/5. Kh Lamnganba returned with the best bowling figures of 2/38 for AKSDO, while Ningthoujam Tomthin (1/35) and Saikhom Chinglemba (1/22) claimed a wicket apiece.
Chasing the daunting total, AKSDO faced stiff opposition from the disciplined RCA bowlers and were dismissed for a paltry 35 runs in 19.4 overs, with Lamnganba emerging as the highest run-getter with just 5 runs to his name.
Farhan Ahmed led the RCA bowling attack and returned with stellar figures of 3/5 in his spell of 4 overs, while Heibokmayum Albaz Hussain (2/4 in 3 overs) and Makakmayum Hanif (2/4 in 4 overs) shared four wickets between them.
Heibokmayum Lucky Ahmed (1/11 in 3 overs), Makakmayum Irfan (1/2 in 2 overs), and Syed Sami Ul (1/0 in 0.4 over) also chipped in with a wicket apiece to help RCA register a comfortable win.
For his brilliant all-round performance, Albaz Hussain was adjudged Player of the Match.
PTRC, Patsoi will square off against KSDO, Kyamgei in the other semi-final match of the tournament. The semi-final dates are yet to be confirmed.
