SSC, Sainik FC off to rousing start in 65th CC Meet

IMPHAL, May 25 : Social Sporting Club (SSC), Sekta and Sainik School Imphal Old Boys' FC (Sainik FC) got off to a rousing start in Group H of the ongoing Babina Group 65th Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Football Tournament (CC Meet) 2025-26 at Mapal Kangjeibung.
In the Group H opening match, SSC thrashed Yairipok FC by 3-0 goals thanks to goals from Shijagurumayum Jackson (8’), Phijam Amuba (41’) and Ningombam Arjun (78’).
Later in the second match, Sainik FC earned an easy 4-1 win over Ziontlang Sincerity Youth Club (ZSYC).
Ningthoujam Yohenba opened the scoring for Sainik FC early in the second minute, before Ningombam Abhijit doubled the advantage two minutes into first-half added time.
Although ZSYC halved the deficit in the 74th minute through Thaokung Malchong Chothe, late stoppage-time strikes from Sapam Basanta (90+2’) and Shagolshem Priyojit (90+4’) sealed a comprehensive 4-1 thrashing.
