IMPHAL, May 27: The Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has alleged that the Government has not been working seriously to rescue the people being kept as hostages with a sinister plan to ignite communal violence.
Pressing the demands for an end to the proxy war and launch of military crackdown against Kuki terrorists, a public meeting was held today at Luwangsangbam Mayai Leikai.
Speaking at the public meeting jointly organised by Luwangsangbam Apunba Meira Paibi and Koirengei Kabui Women Society, COCOMI convenor YK Dhiren alleged that the Government has not been searching for the hostages deliberately even though it has been 15 days since the innocent civilians were taken hostage.
It is a Government’s game plan to ignite a bloody confrontation among the communities. If it is not a game plan of the Government, the whereabouts of the hostages could have been established on the day they were abducted, Dhiren said.
Till date, the Government has not been working seriously to establish the whereabouts of the hostage and it is only waiting for eruption of a bloody communal clash, he alleged.
It is only the Government of India which stands to benefit from communal violence. All the communities of Manipur need to understand this fact and act accordingly, the COCOMI convenor asserted.
In order to ensure that their game plan bears fruit, the Government has been using a proxy army.
There will be neither peace nor stability in Manipur until and unless the Government of India stops its proxy war, and checks the intrusion and aggression by narco-terrorists, he asserted.
