IMPHAL, May 27 : Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Chief Minister Y Khemchand, Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly Th Satyabrata, Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho, Mayang Imphal AC MLA K Robindro, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee president Okram Ibobi and several other organisations have conveyed their best wishes, especially to the Muslims on the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha.
The Governor, in his message, said that the festival 'reminds us' of the values of compassion, generosity and sharing with those in need.
"May this blessed festival bring peace, prosperity and happiness to the State," he said, appealing to the people to reaffirm their commitment to unity, mutual respect and inclusive development.
Extending his greetings, the Chief Minister appealed to the people to strengthen the bonds of unity and renew their commitment towards peace, harmony and collective progress of the State.
Saying that Eid-ul-Adha commemorates the supreme sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim for the sake of mankind and his devotion to Allah, he added that the festival 'reminds us' of the timeless value of selflessness, generosity and brotherhood, which are essential for building a harmonious and peaceful society.
Losii Dikho, while wishing everyone a joyous and blessed Eid-ul-Adha, also prayed for peace, prosperity and harmony to all.
He appealed to the people to reflect upon the values of sacrifice, compassion, humility and generosity that embody the true spirit of the festival.
On the occasion, Satyabrata too prayed for the wellbeing of all and for the continued growth and harmony of the Nation.
"May this festival bring prosperity and happiness to every household", he prayed, appealing to the people to rededicate themselves to the ideals of love, empathy and mutual respect.
Former Chief Minister Okram Ibobi Singh also extended his greetings to the Muslim brethren and prayed for the festival to bring peace, stability and progress to the State.
MLA K Robindro, on the other hand, appealed to the Muslim people to celebrate the festival safely.
''Together we can build a vibrant society", he said, urging the people to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, harmony and mutual respect that define "our vibrant community".
Communist Party of India (Manipur State Council), All Manipur Meitei Pangal Development Organisation (AMMPDO), All Manipur Organisations' Coordinating Committee (AMMOCOC), Coalition Against Drugs and Alcohol (CADA), the Reformist Students' Front (RSF), All Manipur Democratic Students' Organisation (AMDSO) and Indigenous People's Organisation Manipur (IPOM) also conveyed their best wishes to the people on the occasion.
