YWC-Th post 2nd win in Super League Round

IMPHAL, May 27 : YWC, Thambalkhong thumped arch- rivals YWC, Langthabal by 2-0 goals to extend their winning run to two in the Super League round of the Senior Women’s Football League this evening at Artificial Turf Ground, Lamlong Thongkhong.
Fresh from a dominating 5-1 win over FC Imphal, YWC-Th sealed the 2-0 win thanks to goals coming from Huiyam Victoria (22’) and Senjam Alva (45’).
Earlier in the day, FC Imphal posted a huge 7-0 win over ESU, Wangkhei Palace Compound as Yumlembam Pakpi scored thrice and Chingkhamayum Redima and Thongam Reshma adding two goals apiece.
Pakpi opened the scoring in the 24th minute before Redima scored back to back (36’, 40+3’) and handed the team a 3-0 first half lead.
The scoring spree continued with Pakpi netting her second goal in the 47th minute before Th Reshma who subbed in for Yumkhaibam Hemolata joined the fray and made it 5-0 after 74 minute.
Pakpi kept pressing for more and completed her treble in the 79th minute before Reshma scored 4 minutes into the stoppage time to complete her double and set up the 7-0 win for FC Imphal.
YWC-L will play FC Imphal in the next match on May 30 from 1 pm before ESU take on YWC-Th from 3.30 pm.
