IMPHAL, May 28 : YCC, Wangkhei and BSC-A, Brahmapur Laljilakpa Leikai bounced back from their previous game defeat to post their second wins in the ongoing 3rd Khomdram Ongbi Hijam Mema Memorial Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament at Langthabal Public Ground.
YCC, Wangkhei sealed their second Group A win in three games by handing YUCC, Kwakeithel a 14-run defeat this morning.
YCC posted a modest total of 127 runs for 6 wickets after electing to bat first and restricted YUCC to 111/8 thanks to economical bowling performances from Sanjit Sharma (3/11 in 4 overs), Loya Meitei (2/18 in 4 overs) and Laishram Everest Meitei (2/22 in 4 overs).
Loya had earlier added highest 29 off 38 balls as Sanjit Laishram and Rishi made identical 23 runs. Rishi and Sanjit Sharma (13 off 16 balls) were unbeaten as the innings came to a close at 127.
For YUCC, Tomba Moirangthem (3/25) and Manikumar (2/14) shared five wickets before P Bidison (34 off 21 balls) and Risk (18 off 12 balls) emerged as the only double digit run getters in reply.
Sanjit Sharma, who produced an allround show was eventually adjudged man of the match.
Later in a Group C match, BSC-A notched up an 8-wicket win over LCCC, Lilong Chajing toda.
A concerted bowling attack from Ningombam Robert (4/16), Thongam Tarun (3/11), and N Rajibkumar (2/14) helped BSC-A bowl out LCCC for a paltry total of 59 in 14.4 overs before Guruaribam Rishi (19 off 18 balls) and Irungbam Thongamba (18 off 20 balls) produced an unbeaten 37-run third wicket partnership to steer the team to winning 62 in 9.4 overs.
Herojit 15 and Krishnakumar 12 were the leading run getters for LCCC in the first innings before W Aneshkumar and Sagolsem Kison picked a wicket apiece in a lost cause.
N Robert was eventually declared man of the match.
