Turning and turning in a spiral--
A spiral of violence and turmoil,
Our state is moving headlong
Towards an unknown destinationAn abyss of dark uncertainty.

We remain afloat on flimsy hopes
In a sea of doubts and suspense,
Or a sea of unease that becomes
More and more wild and turbulent
As violence flares more and more

Threatening to capsize our hopesHopes that the state remain intact
And unscathed when it slips out
Of the spiral of violence and turmoil.

But, when to slip out of that spiral--
That is the question-- a question
Nagging each of us every moment.
