IMPHAL, May 30 : PCC, RCA and YWC secured victories in the ongoing MNCA Men’s U19 One Day Trophy as two other matches were abandoned and points were shared due to rain.
At Model Hr Secondary and Oriental College Ground, YWC thumped KSDO by 6 wickets for their second Group C victory.
YWC chose wisely to field first after winning the toss and bundled out KSDO for 75 runs in 24.2 overs riding on Leishangthem Chingthang (4/14 in 5 overs) and Seram Tondonsana (2/14 in 6 overs) and fought their way to the winning 79/4 within 13.2 overs thanks to valuable contributions from Yumnam Achouba (25 not out off 16 balls; 3 fours), Sorokhaibam Thoungamba (19 off 29 balls) and Yumnam Kumar (11 off 31 balls).
Kh Abu Sufiyan (23 off 24 balls; 4 fours) and Kh Firdos (21 off 51 balls; 2 fours) were the only double digit run getters for KSDO today before Abu Sufiyan returned with the best bowling figures of 2/25 in 2.2 overs.
Chingthang was eventually adjudged player of the match for his match defining four wicket haul.
Elsewhere at Lairenjam Public Ground, PCC sealed a 73 run victory via VJD/ other method against FORCE to extend their Group B winning run to two games.
RCA also sealed their second Group A win as they beat Model Club by 118 runs via VJD/ other method in another rain affected match.
Meanwhile, the Group E match between AKSDO and SSC and the Group D match between ESU and TCMDC were abandoned forcing the teams to share a point apiece.
