65th CC Meet SDC thrash FC Kumbi 5-1, SSU thump SWC 3-1

IMPHAL, May 31 : Social Development Club (SDC), Samurou notched up a 5-1 win over Football Club Kumbi (FC Kumbi) as Southern Sporting Union (SSU), Singjamei defeated Social Welfare Club (SWC), Keirak by 3-1 goals in today’s matches of the ongoing Babina Group 65th Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Football Tournament 2025-26.
In a Group F match staged this afternoon at Mapal Kangjeibung, SSU got the better of SWC by 3-1 goals thanks to first half goals including one own goal.
SWC were first to strike with Md Samir making the most of a chance in the 14th minute but their lead was cancelled in the 30th minute with Leihaorungbam Avinash conceding an own goal following SSU's relentless bid to come to level terms.
SSU then turned things around in the 39th minute with Wahengbam Jack making a clinical finish before Laitonjam Lemba made it 3-1 after 43 minutes. SWC fought hard in the second half to reduce the margin while SSU displayed their composure well to deny their efforts and kept threatening whenever possible.
Later in the one-sided Group G match, Aimson (8’, 27’, 55’) netted thrice and Hidam Rakesh (45’, 65’) scored a double to set up SDC a comfortable 5-1 win.
The consolation goal for FC Kumbi was scored by Brahmacharimayum Arun late in the 89th minute.
