MSCA names 12 for three Chess Nationals

IMPHAL, Jun 9 : The Manipur State Chess Association (MSCA) has announced 12 players of different age groups who will represent Manipur at the upcoming National level championships.
The players who have been selected for the 39th National U-7 Open and Girls, U-9 Open and Girls and U-11 Open and Girls’ championships to be hosted by Maharashtra at Nagpur; Jharkhand and Karnataka at Mangaluru respectively are as follows.
U-11 Girls : Nongthombam Jojo and Lorena Nongmeikapam
U-9 Girls : Rajkumari Sangamitra and Ira Shankar
U-7 Girls : Lingjelleima Thokchom and Rajkumar Linthoi
U-11 Open : Mangal Elangbam and Rajkumar Paikhomba
U-9 Open : Leirikhomba Mangang and Loitongbam Mayol
U-7 Open : Rajkumar Thoiba and Wangthoi Ningthemcha.
Their selections were made on the basis of the performances of the players in the recently held Manipur State Age Group selection Chess Championship 2026 at Mapal Kangjeibung, said MSCA in a press release.
