IMPHAL, Jun 9 : TRAU, Kwakeithel ended PCC, Mayaikoibi’s three game winning run in the top of the Group B table contest in the 4th MNCA Men’s U-19 One Day Trophy as TCMDC, Thongju crushed LCC, Lamsang by 10 wickets to go top of Group D unbeaten.
In the Group B match staged at Moijing Public Ground, TRAU opted to bat first and posted 237 runs for 8 wickets in 40 overs.
With rain affecting the chase, the target was revised to 204 in 33 over and PCC succumbed at 168 runs within 28.2 overs despite Konthoujam Simon’s 61-ball 74 (14 fours and 1 six).
Mutum Swabhiman shone with a quickfire 71 off 46 balls to help TRAU post the competitive total after Huiningshumbam Luching (35 off 41 balls) and Tyrus Chabungbam (39 off 47 balls) laid the foundation by adding 79 runs for the first wicket.
The innings saw Lamnganba Nongmaithem (3/21 in 8 overs) and Wangmayum Mudakir (2/48 in 7 overs) sharing 5 wickets for PCC.
Simon (74 off 61) and Rahis Khan (44 of 28 balls; 6 fours and 2 sixes) led the batting charge for PCC in a lost cause as Preethson Arubam (3/39 in 6.2 overs) and Ringku Moirangthem (44 off 28 balls) of TRAU shared 5 crucial wickets.
Swabhiman (1/11), G Shivestian (1/33), K Anderson (1/15) and P Jeet (1/13) were also among the wickets for TRAU to set up the fourth straight win for the team.
Swabhiman, who produced an all-round show, was eventually adjudged player of the match.
In the Group D match staged at Khudeiband Lampak, LCC opted to bat first but slumped to 27 all out in 15.1 overs and TCMDC eased to the winning 29 in just 2.1 overs without any loss and ended their league campaign unbeaten (3 wins and 2 abandoned matches).
Laishram Valindra (4/2 in 3 overs), Laishram Vishonath (3/8 in 6.1 overs) and Surchand Sapam (2/12 in 5 overs) produced impeccable bowling performances for TCMDC today to dismiss LCC for the paltry total before Vishonath (16 not out off 10 balls; 3 fours) and Waikhom Mathoi (11 not out off 3 balls; 1 four and 1 six) made the short work of their rivals.
Vishonath was eventually adjudged player of the match.
In another Group D match staged at Lairenjam Public Ground, Al-Ameen beat SHADOW, Thangmeiband by 74 runs for the second win in 5 matches.
In a Group A match staged at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College ground, MPA, Thounaojam thrashed CDCC, Sagolband by 116 runs for their second win in four matches.
Soram Naoboy scored an 88-ball 70 to guide toss winners MPA to 198/8 in 40 overs before Chingtham Albish claimed 5 wickets (5/31 in 7.2 overs) and Ch Sitaranjan (2/15) and Ch Priyokumar (2/3) shared 4 wickets to set up CDCC collapse at 82 in 22.2 overs.
Ch Albish, who produced a match winning bowling performance, was adjudged player of the match.
