Scrutiny clears Sharda’s nomination

IMPHAL, Jun 9: BJP Manipur Pradesh president Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi is all set to become the second Parliamentarian from Mani-pur after Kim Gangte.
Adhikarimayum Sharda Devi alias Maimom Sharda Devi w/o Adhikarimayum Yasobanta Sharma of Brah-mapur New Thumbuthong, Adhikari Leirak, Imphal East filed her nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha election scheduled for June 18.
Sharda, nominated by BJP and NDA, filed her nomination papers yesterday which was the last date for filing nomination papers.
Till yesterday, only Sharda had filed her nomination papers and no rival candidate filed nomination papers.
Scrutiny of the nomination papers was done today  and Sharda’s papers were found valid, according to a circular issued by Returning Officer and Manipur Legislative Assembly Secretary Rohit Sapam.
As such, only a formal declaration awaits before A Sharda becomes the second Parliamentarian from Manipur.
