IMPHAL, Jun 10 : Keishamthong AC MLA Nishikant Sapam today replaced all the 15 bags of rice stolen by unknown persons from Keishamthong High School on June 2.
Unknown persons broke the lock of the school’s godown in the early hours of June 2 and stole 17 bags of rice.
The MLA went to the school today and interacted with the school authority regarding the school’s requirements.
Nishikant also interacted with the students.
The MLA was visibly impressed on seeing Keishamthong High School functioning in a systematic manner which is a Government school.
Strongly condemning the act of burgling 17 bags of rice from the school on June 2, Nishikant Sapam asked law enforcement agencies to arrest the burglars.
In the interest of students, the MLA bought 17 bags of rice and handed them over to the school authority to replace the same quantity of rice stolen by unknown persons.
Observing that some of the rooms do not have ceiling fans during the scorching summer heat, Nishikant assured that he will buy ceilings fans from his own money without waiting for the Government. Keishamthong High School Headmistress Salam Sunita has expressed gratitude to the MLA for visiting the school, presenting replacement for stolen rice and giving assurance to fit ceiling fans in classrooms which do not have fans.
