DIMAPUR, Jun 11 : A day after the recovery of the mortal remains of the six Naga hostages in Kangpokpi district, the NSCN (IM) has demanded that the Government of India outlaws those perpetrators immediately.
Terming the incident as "barbaric killing and grotesque mutilation of victims by Kuki terrorist gangs and its frontal Kuki Village Volunteers", the outfit said these heinous atrocities are blatant crimes against humanity and a savage violation of human dignity that has no place in civilized society. "Even in times of conflict, universal moral norms demand absolute respect for the deceased. The deliberate desecration of human bodies serves no purpose other than to spread terror, weaponize fear, and inflict deep psychological trauma on grieving families and communities", the NSCN (IM) stated.
In the face of these "cold-blooded killings and horrific tortures" witnessed by the world, the NSCN (IM) demanded that the Government of India "immediately outlaw these gangs and formally proscribe them as terrorist organizations".
The NSCN (IM) then alleged that the "Indian security forces manhandle our womenfolk like rag dolls for exercising their democratic right to protest; assault our student activists, and forcibly disband our village guards, formed only because the Indian Government has failed to safeguard the basic rights, security, and dignity of our people – those same forces are unwilling to prevent, and are accused of facilitating the brutal killing of our people by Kuki terrorist gangs widely perceived as their proxies".
It then asked, "How can such actions be reconciled with the principles of justice, equality, and protection that the Government of India is constitutionally bound to uphold?"
The outfit also extended its deepest condolences to the families of the victims and said it stands in solidarity with all those affected by this horrific act.
