2 trucks gutted, drivers missing

SENAPATI, Jun 10: Two trucks were completely destroyed in a fire that broke out at Khongnem near Kathikho Karong dumping site in Senapati district this evening.
According to sources, the incident occurred at around 6 pm.
The vehicles, a container truck and a six-wheeler truck, which arrived from Imphal were parked at the dumping site when the fire broke out.
Both trucks were said to be empty at the time of the incident. Fire brigade from Senapati rushed to the spot and successfully brought the blaze under control.
The drivers of both vehicles are currently untraceable.
One of the drivers is reportedly a resident of Assam. The owner of the trucks is believed to be from Imphal.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and further details are awaited as authorities have started an inquiry into the incident, said sources.
