4th MNCA Men’s U19 One Day Trophy MPA thrash SCCC by 136 runs for third win as TRAU beat CRAU by 2 runs to complete clean sweep

IMPHAL, Jun 11 : MPA, Thounaojam overwhelmed SCCC, Singjamei Thongam Leikai by 136 runs for the third Group A win while TRAU, Kwakeithel eked out a narrow 2-run win over CRAU, Khamnam Bazar to complete Group B league stage sweep in the 4th MNCA Men’s U19 One Day Trophy.
At Lairenjam Public Ground, MPA were asked to bat first and they posted 192/10 in 34.5 overs. Chasing 193 for the win, SCCC slumped to 56 all out in 18.5 overs with Elangbam Sanatomba (4/4 in 4 overs), Chingtham Albish (3/15 in 3.5 overs) and Th Chinglensana (2/9) doing the demolition job for MPA.
Th Chinglensana (29 off 43 balls), Chongtham Sitaranjan (23 off 35 balls) and Elangbam Rohit (22 off 24 balls) led the scoring for MPA in the first innings that saw SCCC conceded 71 extras.
Moirangthem Johnson (3/31 in 8 overs), Abdur Rahaman (3/30 in 6.5 overs) and Rex Waikhom (2/23 in 8 overs) shared 8 wickets for SCCC before Rex Waikhom 14 and Th Lamnganba 10 emerged as the only double digit run getter for the team in reply.
Elangbam Sanatomba who enjoyed a four wicket haul while maintaining a perfect economy of 1 run per over, was adjudged player of the match.
In another Group A match staged at Moijing Public Ground, CDCC, Sagolband Salam Leikai crushed CCK, Khongman by 279 runs.
Sagatpam Lanchenba exploited poor CCK bowlers to score an unbeaten 122-ball 180 (25 fours and 6 sixes) while Devis knocked an unbeaten 127 off 81 balls (18 fours and 4 sixes) to guide CDCC to 366/2 in 40 overs before Lanchenba (5/17) and Devis (3/34) led in dismantling CCK for a paltry total of 87 runs within 25.2 overs.
Lanchenba was eventually named player of the match.
Perfect 5 for TRAU
Meanwhile at Model Hr Sec and Oriental College ground,  TRAU completed Group B whitewash by beating CRAU by 2 runs.
Opting to bat first, TRAU raised 210/4 in 40 overs riding on a scintillating half century knock from Mutum Swabhiman (80 off 65 balls; 5 fours and 3 sixes) and restricted CRAU to 208/9 in 37 overs to seal their fifth won on the trot.
Huiningshumbam Luching also made 40 off 64 balls and Keisham Yaikhomba had to retire out on 25 off 58 balls for TRAU in the first innings that saw Robinson (2/43) and L Rojer (1/32) sharing three wickets for CRAU.
In reply, Robinson Sougaijam scored a 97-ball 98 (10 fours and 1 six) while Khumanthem Prakash (70 off 65 balls) but their efforts fell short as they were just 3 runs away from the win at the end of their innings.
Preethson Arubam led the TRAU bowling attack and returned with the best figures of 3/43 followed by Mutum Swabhiman (2/25), Anderson Keisham (2/25) and Shivestian Gurumayum (2/29).
Mutum Swabhiman who displayed an all-round show yet again was named player of the match.
The day also saw SHADOW, Thangmeiband end their Group D campaign with a 45 run win over LCC, Lamsang.
SHADOW posted 145/10 in 31.5 overs and defended their total by bundling out LCC for 100 runs in 26.2 overs.
