65th IW District Level Subroto Cup CT HSS, Langjing HS emerge as U-17 boys and girls’ champions

IMPHAL, Jun 12 : CT Higher Secondary School (CT HSS) and Langjing High School (Langjing HS) emerged as the U-17 boys and girls’ winners in the 65th District Level Subroto Mukerjee Football Tournament organised by DYASO Imphal West. With the title wins, the two schools will represent the district at the State Level Subroto Cup 2026.
The boys’ competition final between Manipur Star Institute (MSI) and CT HSS ended in a 1-1 draw in the regulation time and the winners were decided via kicks from the penalty mark where in CT HSS came out 10-9 winners.
In the competitive final match, Denilson put MSI ahead after 17 minutes only to be equalised by Nganba of CT HSS in the 47th minute.
In the ensuing shoot-out, Chinglemba, Jojo, Nganba, Bikash, Sirui, Bishal, Mangal and Pravakar scored for the winning side as Augustin missed his shot after his compatriots- Ng Khonish, King Bruce, Subason, Sohan, Denilson, Nitesh, Dilson and Pandish found the target for MSI.
The girls final match also ended in the same fashion as Langjing HS and CT HSS were locked at 1-1 till  the regulation time and the winners were decided via  kicks from the penalty mark.
After playing out a goalless draw in the first half, Lamnganbi handed Langjing HS the lead in the 53rd minute but A Linthoi scored the equaliser for CT HSS in the 64th minute to stretch the game to penalty shoot-out.
K Emoinu, Miraluxmi, Lamnganbi, W Lanthoi and N Luxmi converted their shots in the shoot-out to earn Langjing HS the victory as only K Daina, L Seityamala, S Silpa and S Silky scored for CT HSS.
M Lamnganbi of Langjing HS and Naocha of CT HSS were adjudged best players of the tournament while N Lanchenbi of Langjing HS and Khrish of MSI emerged best goalkeepers in the girls and the boys’ segments.
CT HSS U-17 boys were also declared best disciplined team of the tournament.
