IMPHAL, Jun 13: Several civil society organisations, representing Naga and Meitei communities have demanded declaration of KNF-P as a terrorist organisation.
Around 25 CSOs took part in a joint meeting organised by the Joint Tribes Council Manipur (JTCM) under the aegis of the United Naga Council (UNC) at Hotel Classic here today.
The meeting resolved to urge the Government of India to declare KNF-P as a terrorist organisation.
It also demanded arrest, prosecution and exemplary punishment of the Leilon Vaiphei women and KNF-P militants involved in the abduction and brutal murder of six Naga men from Konsakhul.
The meeting resolved that Leilon Vaiphei village chief Lalboi Vaiphei who ordered the abduction of the six Naga civilians and police personnel Thanggilian Vaiphei who was also involved in the abduction must be arrested immediately.
Maintaining that the six Naga hostages were murdered in the most inhuman manner and their bodies dismembered with unimaginable savagery at the order of KNF-P president Thangboi Kipgen, the CSOs resolved that Thangboi Kipgen must be arrested.
Another resolution adopted at the meeting said that the SoO agreement with Kuki militant groups be abrogated immediately and KNF-P which acted in the most barbarous manner should be declared as a terrorist organisation.
Pointing out that Nemcha Kipgen is the wife of Thangboi Kipgen, the president of terrorist organisation KNF-P, the CSOs called for the removal of Nemcha Kipgen from the office of Deputy Chief Minister.
The meeting further resolved that the Government should provide ex-gratia and Government jobs to the families of the six murdered Naga hostages.
The CSOs also agreed to carry different forms of protest collectively until the SoO agreement is abrogated.
Speaking to media persons after the meeting, JTCM convenor Merajao Inkah said that they vehemently condemned the brutal murder of the six Naga hostages and dismemberment of their bodies. He said that the bodies were so badly mutilated that they could not be identified from their faces or physiques.
They were identified only from their clothes and shoes, he said.
Saying that it is not sure whether the body parts are complete or not, the JTCM convenor asserted that they will not claim the mortal remains for now.
He said that the meeting unanimously agreed to carry on different modes of protest agitation collectively until the Government fulfils the resolutions adopted today.
