Sainik School Imphal brought laurels to Manipur by emerging as the champions beating Sainik School Kodagu (3-0) in the Pre-Subroto Inter Sainik Schools Football Tournament held at Sainik School Kodagu, Karnataka.
Displaying exceptional teamwork, discipline, determination and sportsmanship throughout the tournament, Sainik School Imphal secured the coveted championship trophy after a series of outstanding performances against strong competition from various Sainik Schools across the country.
The team’s remarkable achievement has earned them qualification for the prestigious Subroto Cup International Football Tournament, one of the most renowned school football competitions in the country.
While the U-17 team bagged the trophy, the U-15 team were Runners-Up in their category.
The team were led by Teacher-in-Charge S Tiken Singh assisted by Hav (APTC) Paul Mani and Coach Surmani (SAI).
The winning teams were given a warm reception by the staff and officers of the school at Bir Tikendrajit Airport this evening.
Congratulating the team on their stupendous achievement, Col A Rajiv, Principal of Sainik School Imphal lauded the cadets for their commitment, discipline and fighting spirit. He expressed confidence that the team would continue to excel and represent the school, the State of Manipur and Sainik Schools Society with distinction at the forthcoming Subroto Cup.
