IMPHAL, Jun 15: The Zeliangrong United Front has strongly criticised the United Naga Council's decision and its handling of the recent hostage crisis.
The supposed guardian of the Naga people has hurt the sentiment of the people beyond words, said the ZUF in a statement, accusing the UNC of handling the hostage crisis poorly and without "wisdom".
While releasing the 14 Kuki detainees, the UNC failed to take into account the agonizing cry and desperation of the bereaved families of the six Naga hostages who were found killed, said the ZUF.
"The UNC is accountable and they must own the responsibility to restore peace and normalcy in the State. They must tender apology to the Naga people and the Zeliangrong in particular for their failed policy that has heavily cost the lives of precious innocent civilians," it said.
The ZUF also shared the grief and pain of the bereaved families of the six Zeliangrong men.
