4th MNCA U-19 Men’s One Day Trophy RCA, PTRC and AMCA win to go top

IMPHAL, Jun 15 : RCA, Lilong; PTRC, Patsoi and AMCA, Thoubal secured victories in the 4th MNCA U-19 Men’s One Day Trophy to finish climb atop Group A, D and E respectively.
At Moijing Public Ground, RCA extended their winning run to 4 games and unbeaten run to five in the Group A competition by defeating MPA, Thounaojam by 126 runs.
RCA won the toss and posted 207 runs in 38.4 overs thanks to half century knocks from Md Anush (96 off 101 balls; 14 fours) and Md Alfash (53 off 50 balls; 5 fours and 1 six) before bundling out MPA for 81 runs in 28 overs to seal the commanding win.
Choosing to bat first, RCA lost Syed Sami Ul early on 6 but Md Alfash and Md Anush gathered 105 runs for the second wicket. Md Anush tried to hold things together until he was dismissed by Ch Muhikanta for the 8th wicket as the scoreboard read 186 in 33.5 overs.
Muhinikanta eventually emerged as the pick of the MPA bowlers returning with the best haul of 4/42 before Chongtham Priyokumar, who had early undone Safwan Ahamed for the third wicket, swept the tailenders with ease and returned with the figures of 3/36.
Despite the good first innings showing, MPA faltered in the face of the clinical bowling efforts from Zuned (3/22 in 7 overs), Heibokmayum Lucky Ahmed (3/10 in 2 overs) and Naeesh (2/19 in 8 overs). Thounaojam Ruman (19 off 64 balls) and Chongtham Sitaranjan (23 off 45 balls) were the only double digit run getters for MPA in the innings.
Md Anush who led the batting onslaught for RCA was adjudged player of the match.
PTRC end ESU’s four game unbeaten run
Elsewhere at Khudeiband Lampak, PTRC ended ESU’s four game unbeaten run by handing a 138-run defeat. It was the fourth straight win for PTRC after an opening game loss and they eventually went on top with 8 points.
Electing to bat first, PTRC raised a competitive total of 247/6 in 40 overs riding on half century knocks from Ngambarel Naoshekpam (79 off 71 balls) and Salam Richie (72 off 101 balls) and bowled out ESU for 109 runs within 29.1 overs thanks to leading bowling attacks from Laitonjam James (3/29 in 7 overs) and Ghoutam Chingangbam (2/9 in 4 overs).
Thokchom Simesh (3/25 in 8 overs) was the pick of the ESU bowlers before Thokchom Simesh (29 off 45 balls) and Yendrembam Bharatnganba (20 off 59 balls) emerged the leading run getters for ESU in a lost cause.
Ngambarel who shone with the bat for PTRC was named player of the match.
AMCA beat PTCC by 2 wickets to top Group E
The day also saw AMCA beat PTCC, Patsoi by 2 wickets for the fourth win in five matches and temporarily went on top of Group E table.
PTCC elected to bat first but their innings did not fare well and eventually collapsed at 61 in 26.4 overs before AMCA fought their way to the target in 19.3 overs with 2 wickets to spare.
MM Yakin (4/13 in 6 overs), Khulakpam Fariyaz Khan (3/9 in 4.4 overs) and Maibam Anish (2/8 in 4 overs) shared 9 crucial wickets for AMCA to dismiss PTCC for a paltry total before they withstood PTCC pressure in the chase to seal the victory.
N Langamba (4/10 in 6.3 overs) and Somobanta (2/9 in 3 overs) shared 6 wickets for PTCC but their efforts went in vain as the target was too small.
