Bunkers destroyed at Mongkot Chephu

IMPHAL, Jun 16: Security forces destroyed 14 bunkers today, including five bunkers along the Mongkot Chephu–Patlijang hill stretch and nine bunkers on the Lungphu Junction–Industrial Estate centre hill stretch, police said.
Two empty cases of 5.56mm ammunition were also recovered from the Mongkot Chephu–Patlijang hill stretch.
Earlier, security forces had destroyed 12 bunkers, including two at the Shangkai–Mongkot Chephu village hill stretch and 10 at the Leingangching–Sikibung village hill stretch.
From the site, a binocular, 21 empty cases of various weapons, and eight live rounds of SBBL were also recovered.
Meanwhile, security forces arrested two persons from Molnom Village along with 2 Kg of suspected morphine.
The arrested individuals, according to police, are Hoineihing (32) and Chinneivah, both residents of T Khonomphai Village
