39 Kgs of drugs disposed

IMPHAL, Jun 17: Around 39 Kgs of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances seized by Manipur Police, NAB and other security agencies from different parts of the State were disposed of today.
The narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances disposed of today included 4.4 Kgs of heroin powder, 5.35 Kgs of brown sugar, 0.42 Kg of WY tablets, 2.6 Kgs of SP capsules and 26.50 Kgs of ganja.
The drugs were disposed  of by consigning them to flames at Shija Common Biomedical Waste Treatment Facility, Lamdeng, Imphal West during which IG (Intelligence & NAB) Ningshen W, DIG AP-2 N Herojit Meitei, DIG (Range I & II) M Pradip, SP NAB W Basu and Imphal West SP Ksh Shivakanta were present.
IG (Intelligence & NAB) Ningshen W said that different types of illegal narcotic  drugs and psychotropic substances seized by Manipur Police, NAB and other security agencies from different parts of the State were disposed of earlier too.
He said that the security agencies have been working tirelessly to eradicate drugs and make Manipur a drug-free State.
Keeping up with the same efforts, 39 kgs of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances were being disposed of today, he said. The IG (Intelligence & NAB) also appealed to the public to support and cooperate with the security agencies in their efforts toward eradicating the menace of drugs from the State.
