Brinda to fight polls

IMPHAL, Jun 17: Thounaojam Brinda has decided to fight the State Assembly elections in Yaiskul AC.
A formal announcement on Brinda’s candidature for the 13th State Assembly election which is due in early 2027 will be made on June 21 at her Yaiskul Janmasthan residence.
Thounaojam Brinda served as an officer in Manipur Police before taking voluntary retirement and joining electoral politics.
The political party under whose banner Brinda will fight the election will also be announced soon, sources said.
Brinda contested the last State Assembly election held in 2022 and lost to Thokchom Satyabrata who is currently serving as the Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly.
